PAY

Up to $174,326.73* / year

Oakland Police Officers get a base pay of $8,830.69 to $12,366.92 per month plus additional pay incentives.

Police Officer Trainees receive $7,502.58 per month while attending the OPD Police Academy.

*Total salary is the top step of the range, plus Night Shift Differential Pay, Longevity Pay, Advance Post Pay, and Crisis Intervention Trained Pay. After completion of the academy, Police Officers receive step increases on an annual basis and may reach the top step after 5 years.
